Frequently asked questions about Dried Thyme

What is meant by dried thyme?

In Sicily, dried thyme is used in many preparations. One of our favorite uses is on freshly warm bread bruschetta. As with oregano, flavored butter, oil and salt can also be prepared with thyme. As it is, it is ready to be spread on grilled vegetables or to embellish a sauce, a salad or grilled meat, fish and vegetables.

What can you prepare with dried thyme?

Thyme, with its fresh aroma, is very suitable for the preparation of fish. It can be used during marinating to delicately flavor it or as a condiment for example for baked sea bass or sea bream baked in foil. Mixed with breadcrumbs and other flavourings, it is perfect for a salmon en crust. It also goes well in the mixture of fish balls and in a classic seafood carbonara.

How is herbal salt prepared?

Sea salt is flavored with the addition of spices and dried herbs. This mixing allows you to add taste and flavor to dishes without having to add quantities of salt. We follow a family recipe that allows us to respect the right proportions between salt and aromas and we only use strictly Sicilian, zero kilometer herbs and spices.
