We produce certified extra virgin olive oil (Organic, PGI SICILIA, PDO MONTI IBLEI), exclusively from native varieties, in Sicily, where olive trees have been cultivated for over 3,000 years, and centuries, combined with human expertise, have selected the best cultivars. For over a century, we have passed down the traditions and keys to success. At each stage, we have enriched this legacy with important innovations and technologies.

Documents show that our family was already dedicated to cultivating and caring for olive trees in Chiaramonte Gulfi , an area where these trees have grown wild for millennia. This is where one of the world's most celebrated DOPs originated. In recent years, the Cutreras have also operated a palmento (wine press) for transforming local grapes into must.

Alongside our olive growing, our olive oil milling business began. The Cutrera family ran one of the mills for the large landowners in the area and in the following decades dedicated themselves to pressing olives, using stone mills , presses, and the help of mules.

Giovanni , the founder of the current family, with his experience, decides to take the big leap: with the help of his wife Maria, he opens his first oil mill and makes it available to small and large olive producers in the area.

1999

The family oil mill is operating and is also one of the largest in the area, so Giovanni decides to open a second mill. His children are now also at his side: Maria , the eldest, Giusy , and Salvatore , the youngest, help him look beyond the local market and focus on producing high-quality oil. So much so that the company will be one of the promoters of the process to obtain the Monti Iblei DOP brand.

The company is now in the hands of Maria, Giusy, and Salvatore, who are transforming the small family mills into a modern and ambitious enterprise. And the first recognition arrives: the prestigious Ercole Olivario competition recognizes our oil for the first time. It is Primo, a revelation product in the "intense fruity" category. It will be the first of over 650 awards won by our oils in the last 20 years.

The new generation , the sixth, joins the management of the three brothers, bringing new life and energy and deciding to diversify production: thus the Segreti di Sicilia preserves line was born, recipes “like once upon a time” to celebrate the Sicilian gastronomic tradition.

The visionary approach and the awareness of the possibility of always improving have given rise to another ambitious project, the construction (in 2021) of a new production plant with a hyper-technological mill , unique in the world, and with the aim of making the business more efficient, improving quality and minimizing the environmental impact.
