    Our organic apricot extra jam is produced from sweet and sugary organic Sicilian apricots. We collect them fully ripe from organically grown trees and transform them into extra jam following a simple family recipe: a little organic raw cane sugar, a little organic lemon juice and a low temperature cooking process that allows the taste to be kept intact. , the intense color and the properties of fresh fruit. The consistency is creamy and dense and the flavor well balanced. ORGANIC apricots make up 85% of the compote.

    Our Segreti di Sicilia line of preserves was born from the love for this land and its traditions, from the scents of our childhood, from our grandmother's secrets and from the rediscovery of an authentic and genuine past. Each product speaks of a specific territory, of a biodiversity that the world envies us. We choose each of them from our own crops or from our network, small and local productions and farmers who work the land with the same passion and respect as in the past. These genuine products are then transformed in our modern canning plant with the help of latest generation machinery. We use innovative cooking and preservation techniques that guarantee absolute respect for the original recipe and, at the same time, the preservation of all the organoleptic characteristics of the fresh product and its main nutritional aspects. The absence of preservatives and colorings allows you to taste a genuine product.

The ORGANIC apricots we use for our Segreti di Sicilia jam are grown in Sicily and harvested when fully ripe. The variety chosen for this recipe has particular aromatic notes and a very intense and concentrated sweetness. Apricots, the summer fruit par excellence, are excellent allies for health because they are very rich in vitamins, in particular carotenoids, vitamins A and C, and minerals such as potassium, phosphorus, sodium, iron and calcium.

Segreti di Sicilia organic apricot extra jam is perfect for breakfast or a snack, for example spread on toast or used to season plain yogurt. It can also be used in combination with goat's or cow's cheeses, for a gourmet platter or to prepare sweets and desserts such as the classic tart.

Generally, sweet and creamy cheeses go well with compotes and jams with a sour taste, while sweet compotes and jams go better with mature ones. For example, soft, sweet and fresh cheeses such as ricotta and robiola go well with acidic jams such as lemon, orange and mandarin jams, or wild berry jam. Hard, mature cow's milk cheeses such as Grana Padano or Parmigiano Reggiano go well with pear jam, goat's cheese with raspberry, fig and apricot jam or orange and mandarin jam, pecorino cheese with lemon jam and green tomato jam or of onion.

According to our traditional recipe, to eliminate the sour note from the apricots processed into jam we use ORGANIC lemon juice.
